Kelsey A. Ellender-Barthel, PA

Kelsey Ellender-Barthel, PA-C, is a native of Lake Charles who provides quality, compassionate care. She values transparency and honesty and gives patients a voice as she helps you make informed decisions regarding your care path.

Barthel knew during high school that she wanted to work in healthcare after she went on mission trips to Nicaragua. She worked in cardiothoracic and vascular surgery right out of graduate school for many years. Grad school for Barthel was a master’s degree in physician assistant studies from LSUHSC-Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions. She previously earned a bachelor’s degree in molecular and cellular biology from LSUS. Barthel is a board certified physician assistant (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants).  

Away from the clinic, Barthel enjoys reading, working out, traveling and playing with her kids. She and her husband have two daughters.
